Synergy among security agencies paramount to ensuring peace, justice – Kano CP

 

The Kano State Commissioner of Police, Muhammad Usaini Gumel, has said Nigeria needs synergy among security agencies to achieve required peace and quick delivery of justice.

He added that effective implementation of Administration of Criminal Justice Law is a way forward to ensuring prompt investigation, and prosecution of criminal cases.

He disclosed this during the second edition of Capacity Building Training for the police and other security agencies in the State on the Administration of Criminals Justice Law, held at Officers Mess, Police Headquarters, Bompai, Kano.

He said the second phase of the capacity building training will educate and sensitize the police officers and other security agencies who conduct investigations and prosecute cases before a court of law on how to use the new administration of criminal justice law effectively.

“This workshop is directed towards equipping participants on the intricate of administration criminal justice with aim of ensuring that criminal cases were been treated according to the jurisdiction of the law,” he said.

He urged participants to make adequate utilization of the golden opportunity and step down the training to their colleagues who participate in investigation, and prosecution of criminal cases.

Justice Faruk Lawan of the Kano High Court said the workshop was very timely.

“This workshop came at the right time , hence all stakeholders should synergize with each other to ensure effective implementation of the administration of criminal justice law,” he said.

In his remark, Governor Abba Kabiru Yusuf, represented by the Director Special Duties, Air Vice Marshal Ibrahim Umar (rtd), said his administration would continue to partner with the police and other stakeholders in ensuring effective implementation of the law.

He urged the participants to make adequate utilization of the experiences they will acquire during the training.
