Sustain positive driving behaviours, adhere to traffic rules — FRSC tells motorists

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has urged motorists to embrace safety ideals, sustain positive driving behaviours and adhere to all traffic rules and regulations.

The FRSC Corps Marshal, Mr Dauda Biu, made the call in a statement issued by the corps’ Public Education Officer (CPEO), Assistant Corps Marshal (ACM) Bisi Kazeem, on Sunday in Abuja.

The statement was released to felicitate with Nigerians on the 63rd independence anniversary.

Biu stressed on the need to have a crash-free anniversary.

He said this was in line with the efforts put in place to ensure free flow of traffic and the safety of lives and property of road users.

“The FRSC is aware of how much the country cherishes its independence going by the series of festivities that form part of the celebration, and warmly aligns in totality with the entire citizens in this historic moment,” he said.

Biu admonished motorists to apply all cautionary measures to achieve a crash-free occasion.

He also gave the assurance of full deployment of operational facilities across traffic-prone areas to ensure a hitch-free movement of persons and goods.

According to him, to forestall all incidences of mishap on the road, I have directed commanding officers across the country to ensure full deployment of personnel.

“There are also logistics for high visibility and to ensure prompt removal of obstructions and effective traffic management,” he said.

The corps marshal wished the entire country a peaceful and safe celebration while calling on the motoring public to utilise the FRSC toll free numbers: 122 and put a call through in the event of any crash, obstruction or emergency for prompt response.
