Suspended Alimosho LG chairman apologises to Lagos Assembly
The suspended chairman of Alimosho Local Government Area in Lagos State, Jelili Sulaimon, has formally apologised to the Lagos State House of Assembly following his suspension for misconduct and disrespect towards the legislative body.
In a heartfelt letter addressed to Speaker Mudashiru Obasa and read during a session of the House, Sulaimon acknowledged that his previous actions may have caused a rift between him and the Assembly.
“I express my most sincere and heartfelt apology for any actions or inactions… that may have contributed to the recent misunderstanding,” he stated.
Sulaimon, who was suspended for non-compliance and a defiant attitude, expressed regret for his conduct, asserting his commitment to fostering a more respectful relationship with the legislators.
“I have always held the Lagos State House of Assembly in the highest regard,” he added, promising to work closely with the House moving forward.
Also, Sulaimon notified the Assembly that he has withdrawn the lawsuit he filed against them in the Federal High Court in Abuja, further signaling his intention to mend ties.
