Suspected kidnapper lands in court

A 38-year-old suspected kidnapper, Akeem Ajibola has been arraigned before an Osogbo Magistrates’ Court over attempted kidnap.

The accused person allegedly committed the offence on December 28, 2021 in Osogbo.

The prosecutor, Inspector Elisha Olusegun told the court that the accused person attempted to kidnap one Abdulahi Zakariyau at his shop.

He said that the offence committed is contrary to and punishable under Sections 516 and 364 of the criminal code, cap 34 vol ll law of Osun state, 2002.

The accused person, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges leveled against him.

His defense Counsel, Mr Tubosun Oladipupo prayed the court to grant his client bail in the most liberal terms.

In his ruling, Magistrate Asimiyu Adebayo granted the accused person bail in the sum of N200,000 with one surety in like sum.

The case was adjourned till March 7 for hearing.
