Otunba Babatunde Onakoya, the former Federal Board Member of the Benin-Owena River Basin Development Authority has hailed the Supreme Court of Nigeria for being fair and just in the its decision which upheld the voices of Nigerians and returned Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress (APC) as Nigeria President.
Recall that Asiwaju Bola Tinubu was declared winner and returned as democratically-elected President by INEC on March 25th Presidential Poll, but his victory was challenged by Presidential Candidates of PDP and Labour Pary, Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi, respectively.
The All Progressives Congress (APC), the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and Asiwaju Bola Tinubu were taken before both the Presidential Election Petitions Court and the Supreme Court of Nigeria where the applications were ruled in favour of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed and the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Speaking on the Presidential Victory of Asiwaju Bola Tinubu shortly after the Supreme Court’s decision, Otunba ‘Tunde Onakoya, popularly known as Tunde Debasco noted that the Court’s judgment would allow President Bola Tinubu to bring good governance to Nigerians by re-setting and re-engineering the Country to a much better path.
While asking both Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi to join hands with President Tinubu for a much better and enviably greater height, the Ogun State APC Chieftain, stated that serious assignments had started, asking all Organs of Nigeria Government to support good initiatives of President Tinubu in order to do away with the sufferings of Nigeria and improve people’s standards of living.
He said, “The finality of Supreme Court’s decision puts an end to all insinuations, doubts and fear that followed the March 25th, Presidential Election which returned Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the democratically-elected President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces.
“Enough of distractions, and with this Res Judicata, it’s time for President Bola Tinubu to bring good governance to Nigerians and reset the Country with the much published Renewed Hope Manifesto of his Presidential Campaign.
“I congratulate Mr President, our Great Party – the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the good People of Nigeria for the landmark judgement delivered by the Supreme Court of Nigeria and I appeal to both Atiku Abubakar, Presidential Candidate of PDP and Peter Obi, the Presidential of Labour Party to join hands with President Tinubu in order to take Nigeria to an enviable and greater height. “I pray that the same victory shall pass round; it shall be the portions of both Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State and Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State, whose governorship election victories are being challenged at the Appellate Court, at present.”
