Abimbola Abatta, Osogbo

The Yoruba nation freedom fighter, Sunday Adeyemo popularly known as Sunday Igboho has demanded the immediate release of the members of the Odua Peoples Congress (OPC) who were arrested in connection with the arrest of the Fulani warlord, Isikilu Wakili in Ibarapa.

Recall that the Oyo State Police command declared that it arrested some members of the OPC in connection with the earlier arrest of Isikilu Wakili.

Adeyemo issued a 7-day ultimatum to the Federal and Oyo State governments as well as the Oyo State Police, warning that all Yorubas will come out en masse to protest against the arrest.

He issued the ultimatum on Saturday while addressing supporters of the Yoruba nation at Nelson Mandela Freedom Park in Osogbo, Osun State.

According to him, “They (Odua Peoples Congress) apprehended some Fulanis who were disrupting the peace of Ibarapa and handed them over to the police. But the Oyo State Police and Nigerian Government now arrested them which should not be so.

“I urge the Nigerian government, Oyo State government and police to release them immediately. Before all Yorubas will come out en masse to protest against it.”

Earlier, Adeyemo had declared there will be no election in Yoruba land in 2023 while adding that the Yoruba nation must leave now as it is no more a slave to the northerners.
