Stop behaving like jesters on Osun governorship election petition tribunal, Famodun tutors Adeleke, PDP handlers

The Osun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has faulted the grandiloquent approach exhibited by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) when the leadership of the party went to file the defence of Mr Ademola Adeleke, who was declared the winner of the July 16, 2022 governorship election in the state, at the state governorship election petition tribunal in Osogbo, the state capital, yesterday.

It would be recalled that Adeleke had been evading the service of the election tribunal process until it became a legal issue of which the tribunal directed the substituted service of the process by pasting same on the notice board of the tribunal on Monday.

The bailiff that went to the Ede country home of the PDP candidate had told the tribunal on Monday that he escaped being attacked by the whiskers in his attempt to effect the service without luck.

Adeleke made a statement through his spokesman that it was the exigency of his preparation for his governorship transmission agenda that has been preventing him from making himself available for the service of the tribunal process.

  • The Osun State chairman of the APC, Prince Gboyega Famodun, in a statement issued by his Media Aide, Kola Olabisi, in Osogbo yesterday, accused the handlers of the PDP in the state of making a mountain out of a molehill on the election petition tribunal issue.

Apparently commenting on the ridiculous high number of the volumes of the defence binded documents which Adeleke submitted at the tribunal yesterday, Famodun hinted that the embattled PDP candidate and his handlers are pathological jesters.

He reminded Adeleke and the handlers of the PDP that the worth of a set of teeth is not measured by its numerous quantity but if they are only two, their potency and viability would not be in doubt.

Famodun explained that the governorship of a state is not a tea party but it could only be entrusted to a proven serious- minded individual and not a mere jester who is only interested in the glamour of the office.

According to the Osun State APC chairman: “The earlier the PDP’s satellite candidate and his party come to terms with the fact that sentiment, emotion and facts are not related, the better it will dawn on them to sit up and stop acting like jesters in the court of law.

“The controversial, handpicked and ever loquacious Ondo State-born Osun State PDP caretaker chairman, Mr Akindele Adekunle, who is an avid lover of rodomontade, should be in the know that his loudmouthed jingoism won’t win the case for his candidate at the governorship election petition tribunal”, the Osun State APC chairman cautioned.

Famodun stated that the political office that Adekunle is holding irrespective of how he got into the office should have opened his eyes to the fact that he should stop acting through his actions and inactions, as if he would sit in judgement at the governorship election petition tribunal.
