Speaker Abass calls for increased naira-denominated investment in health sector

The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon Tajudeen Abass has called for increased naira-denominated investments in Nigeria’s health sector.

The Speaker made this known when he received a delegation from the First Surat Group of Companies in Nigeria on Friday.

Speaking, Abass commended the conglomerate for its contributions and donations to Nigeria for many years.

He noted that the continued investment is a testimony that the Nigerian-Turkish relationship is a mutually beneficial one.

The Speaker also encouraged other nationalities to emulate the good work that the group has been doing in Nigeria.

According to him, “The National Assembly, especially the House, welcomes ideas on how to collaborate for a win-win situation for Nigeria and Turkey.

“I recognise that a significant number of the citizens of this country are going on medical tourism. If we can have or replicate what they have in the developed countries, Nigeria would be able to save a lot of foreign exchange, thereby giving us the opportunity to safeguard the Naira.” he said.
