Six Abuja kidnapped victims regain freedom

After spending months in kidnappers’ den, six kidnapped victims were rescued last week through the joint efforts of security agencies in Abuja.

The names of the released victims include Muhammad Ali, Monday Matthew, Adebayo Adegboyega, Ibrahim Usman, Shola Dada, and Samuel Kuti.

Recall that kidnappers abducted over 30 workers on a site in May 2022 while they were working on a project contracted to Mabzeem Construction and Property Links limited.

Although the CEO of the company, Sanni Olatunde Kazeem, was also kidnapped alongside the workers, he was able to escape with two other employees.

A police source disclosed that the recently released abducted victims were unharmed and have been reunited with their families.

Meanwhile, it was learnt that one of the kidnappers was killed in a shootout with the local vigilantes.

“Investigation is currently ongoing to arrest the remaining criminals and find out the rest of the hideout,” the source disclosed.
