The Sustainable Initiative for Nurturing Growth (SING) Nigeria has appointed Dr Itari Turner as its new Executive Director.
This is contained in a statement by Ms Obianuju Iloanya, Programme Manager, SING Nigeria in Abuja on Thursday.
Iloanya said that the appointment took immediate effect saying it was ratified by the board of the organisation at a meeting in Abuja.
“Turners’ appointment is coming at a time when the political atmosphere is gathering momentum, ahead of the 2023 general elections which requires the input of the organisation,” she said.
Turner would be replacing the former Executive Director Idris Usman who resigned in February to allow him concentrate on his new found interest and engagement.
“The entire board members and staff of our organisation are strongly behind Itari who has been our foundational member, a strong pillar, and has been acting as the Executive Director since the resignation of Usman.
“Turner, aside from working as the Research and Financial Director of SING, a position she has held since 2018, is a lecturer in Policy and strategy at Baze University, Abuja.
“She acquired a Ph.D in Management Research from Brunel University, London; an M.Sc in Human Resources Management from Brunel University, London, and holds a B.sc in Business Economics from the American University of Nigeria, Yola.
“She is a member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management of Nigeria, a Human Resource Consultant, and a youth mentor, and has worked on several projects both in Nigeria and abroad,” she said.
