An Educationist and Chief Education Officer to Ekiti State Government, Adetunji Akingbade, has advised youths across the states, to shun decadence and social vices.
According to him, social vices are capable of bringing families and communities into disrepute, hence, the need for youths to shun them.
Akingbade gave the disclosure at the weekend during the ‘Mabel Quiz Competition,’ organised by Bofoat Model International Group of Schools, Ugbe, Akoko North East Local Government Area of Ondo State, to commemorate the birthday anniversary of the Director of the school, Babalola Motunrayo.
Nigerian NewsDirect reports that no fewer than 18 schools in Ondo state participated in the maiden edition of the quiz competition.
Akingbade, who urged the participants to be passionate and showcase cheerful disposition towards their education said the essence of the quiz competition meant to cushion the knowledge of effulgent students in the milieu.
He, therefore, urged the participants to utilize the advantage of technology and innovations towards tackling the menace of unemployment and its attendant hardship.
Samuel Ajimuda, the Principal, Victory College, Ikare-Akoko, while lauding the unprecedented developments witnessed by Bofoat School, said the academic-oriented programme won’t cease to continue and winner of the subsequent edition will benefit N100,000 as cash prize.
