She was one in a million woman –Tinubu’s ex-photographer eulogizes late Abibat Mogaji
Former personal photographer of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Mr. Stephen Adedayo, has described the late Iyaloja-General of Nigeria and mother of President Tinubu, Alhaja Abibat Mogaji, as a one in a million woman.
Adedayo made this remark during an interview with pressmen in Lagos at a remembrance ceremony held in honour of the late matriarch.
“Alhaja Abibat Mogaji was a woman of remarkable achievements and a shining example of entrepreneurship, leadership, and community service,” Adedayo said.
“Her legacy includes pioneering the development of the famous Lagos Market, empowering countless women through her leadership and mentorship, and inspiring a new generation of female entrepreneurs and leaders.”
Adedayo highlighted Alhaja Abibat Mogaji’s tireless support to her community, offering guidance, wisdom, and resources to those in need.
“She fostered a culture of education and excellence, encouraged her children and grandchildren to pursue their dreams and aspirations, and built bridges across cultural and religious divides, promoting understanding, tolerance, and peaceful coexistence,” he said.
Adedayo also recalled how President Tinubu affectionately referred to him as “Photographer Maami” (My mother’s photographer). “I really miss Mama and she is a great loss for me because she did a lot for me when she was alive. May her soul continue to rest in perfect peace,” he said.
Adedayo remembered Alhaja Abibat Mogaji as a pillar of strength and wisdom, whose impact will continue to be felt for generations to come.
