Sergiy Palkin, the CEO of Shakhtar Donetsk, has made a sensational claim about Chelsea’s Mykhailo Mudryk, saying that he is the ‘most talented and unique player in the world.’
Despite struggling to adapt to life in the Premier League after his £62million transfer from Shakhtar, Palkin remains hopeful that Mudryk can achieve great things if Chelsea invest time into developing his abilities.
Mudryk arrived at Stamford Bridge last summer with great expectations but has had a rough start, failing to score in any competition in his first six months.
The Ukrainian has only netted three times in the Premier League this season, which is a significant drop from his impressive record of 12 goals and 17 assists in 44 games for Shakhtar.
Nonetheless, Bayern Munich was keen to acquire his services but reportedly failed in a last-minute move during the January transfer window.
However, Palkin believes that the Blues should invest in Mudryk by providing him with more coaching to improve his game further.
“I can tell you that, for me, Mudryk is the most talented and unique player in the world,” Palkin told beIN SPORTS.
“I believe that in order to get the maximum from Mudryk, as they anticipate, you need to invest in him. And these investments are not money.
“The investment is time with the coaching staff to communicate with him and to work closely with him.”
