Sep 21 Guber: PDP’s momentum builds, as Edo North residents flock to support Obaseki, Ighodalo

…Hundreds dump APC in Fugar, Agbede, as Gov. assures electorate of continuity, progress

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Thursday continued its campaign across Edo North, sweeping through Fugar in Etsako Central and Agbede in Etsako West, with hundreds of residents dumping the opposition All Progressives Congress (APC) for the PDP.

The mass exodus was prominently visible during the party’s recent campaign stops in Fugar and Agbede, as the September 21 governorship election approaches.

Governor Obaseki expressed satisfaction with the massive turnout, saying, “I have never seen this type of crowd in all the places we have visited.”

He assured the electorate of continuity and progress if they vote for the PDP.

At Fugar, Chief Mike Ogiadomeh, a chieftain of the PDP, welcomed Governor Obaseki and the campaign team, praising the Obaseki-led administration for its achievements in the state.

He described Asue Ighodalo as “a man with proven track records.”

Barr. Pascal Ugbome, another chieftain, eulogised Asue Ighodalo and Osarodion Ogie, describing them as “a perfect match” capable of taking Edo State to greater heights.

The Director General of the Asue Ogie Campaign Council, Hon. Matthew Iduoriyekemwen, declared that “the APC is not an option for progress in Edo State” and urged the electorate to remain focused and vote for the PDP.

In Agbede, the campaign trail was greeted with a large crowd of excited supporters, with Governor Obaseki commending the people for coming out en masse despite the late hour. Ighodalo promised to resolve the water issues in Agbede before the end of Obaseki’s tenure and ensure that the area gets its own transmission station to address poor electricity supply.

The state chairman of the party, Dr Tony Aziegbemi, charged the people to come out en masse and vote on September 21, while also urging Chief Dan Orbih, the leader of the Legacy PDP in the state, to “retrace his steps and come back home.”
