Senator Adeola empowers graduates with ICT skills

Weeks long training commence has commenced for the first batch among the 1000 successful candidates of Senator Solomon Adeola (APC, Lagos West) facilitated Information Communication and Technology (ICT) training and certification in Ikeja, Lagos State.

In a statement signed by the Media Adviser to the Senator, Chief Kayode Odunaro, said that the selected trainees are graduates with HND and higher degrees resident in Lagos West Senatorial District irrespective of tribe, gender or political affiliation of not more than 35 years.

They were selected through a rigorous online qualifying test that saw over 4000 applications for the training.

Speaking on the rationale behind the ICT training and certification organized in conjunction with Engineering Materials Development Institute, Akure, Senator Adeola stated that while he continues to facilitate empowerment and skills acquisition for vocations like, fashion designers, confectioners, phone repairers, paint makers, hairdressers, barbers and makeup artists, many educated youth yearning for training and certification in various ICT programmes to be more employable and self-employed would not be left out, adding that it is a well-known fact that ICT knowledge and skills are in high demanding in the modern world.

Senator Adeola disclosed that the participants at the end of the training would be awarded two certificates, one from the training institute and the other internationally recognized certificates from the awarding bodies.

“The training programme offers opportunities to network with other high-tech persons in the industry and participants will be empowered with new laptops for their independent practice,” he stated.

Programme certifications for participants include “Power Bi Microsoft Data Analytics,” “Azure Microsoft Cloud Storage,” “Graphics Design Adobe Visual Content (Brand Design),” “Digital Marketing” and “Basic and Advanced Certiport Data Analysis and Calculations.”
