Segun Showunmi condoles Adebutu over Mum’s death
A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ogun State, Otunba Segun Showunmi has condoled with the governorship candidate of the party in the state, Hon Oladipupo Adebutu over the death of his mother and matriarch of Adebutu’s family, Dame Caroline Oladunni Adebutu, the Iya Ijo of Methodist Church, Iperu Remo.
Showunmi has equally commiserated with the lotto magnate, Sir Kessington Adebutu over the demise of his wife of 55 years, the Iya Ijo of Methodist Church, Iperu Remo, Mama Caroline Adebutu noting that it was no doubt painful that Mama had to leave when her rich counsel and guidance are utmost needed.
Mama Dame Caroline Oladunni Adebutu was said to have breathed her last on Friday at the age of 83.
In a statement made available to journalists on Saturday, Otunba Segun Showunmi described Mama Dame Caroline Adebutu as a very loving mother and community leader who would be sorely missed because of her exemplary leadership character and love for humanity.
The PDP chieftain said Ogun State has again lost one of its illustrious and dependable citizens who was quite passionate about the welfare of others praying the almighty God to grant the Adebutu’s dynasty the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss
The statement reads “I, Otunba Segun Showunmi condole the entire Adebutu family, our revered Odole, Sir Kessington Adebutu, my brother, Hon. (Dr) Oladipupo Adebutu on the departure of their matriarch, Dame Caroline Oladunni Adebutu, the Iya Ijo of Methodist Church, Ibu Road, iperu – Remo, Ogun State, the Otun iya laje and the Iya Apesin of Lagos.
“My thoughts and prayers are with Chief Adebutu Kessington and his family, it is my prayer that the Lord will comfort the family from all sides. May Mama’s soul rest in peace”.
