Security man lands in court over assault

Abimbola Abatta, Osogbo

An Osogbo Magistrates’ court has remanded a 33-year-old security man, Wasiu Ogundipe, for alleged assault.

The accused person committed the offence on March 29, 2021 around 9:50 pm at Aloha Hotel, Mallan Tope Area in Osogbo.

The prosecutor, Inspector Temitope Fatoba told the court that the defendant conspired with others, now at large, to assault one Olatunji Quadri by hitting him with a stick and cutlass on the head after which he sustained injury.

The offence committed is contrary to and punishable under section 365 and 516 of Criminal Code CAP 34 Vol 11 Law of Osun State of Nigeria 2002.

Counsel to the defendant, S O Abiona, urged the court to grant his client bail in the most liberal terms.

However, the magistrate, A. A Adeyeba remanded the accused person at Ilesa correctional centre.   The case was, thereafter, adjourned till April 7th, 2021 for ruling on bail.
