Security guard docked for alleged theft of tricycles worth N3.9m

A 42-year old security guard, Isaha Richard, on Monday, appeared before an Ikeja Magistrates’ Court charged with stealing two tricycles valued at N3.9million.

Richard, who resides at  No.18, Habibat St., Dopemu, Agege in Lagos State, is facing charges of conspiracy, stealing and breach of public peace.

The Prosecutor, Insp Segun Oke told the court that the defendant committed the offences on March 25, at Mufsuf Petrol Station, Ipaja Road, Dopemu Agege, Lagos State.

Oke said that the two tricycles owned by the complainant, Mr Abayomi Adeyemi, were parked at the petrol station where Richard worked as a security guard on night duty.

He said that the following day two tricycles could not be found where they were parked the previous night, and the defendant could not give account of them.

The prosecutor said that the offences contravened Sections 168, 287 and 411 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.

The defendant pleaded not guilty to the charges.

The Magistrate, Mrs M. C. Ayinde admitted the defendant to N100,000 bail with two sureties in like sum.

Ayinde adjourned the case until May 25 for mention.
