What we actually need is to remain on course and to rededicate our commitment to the principle of fairness and adherences to all those things we promised the nation as a party. Change is that supreme inconvenience we must be seen to champion and ever ready to turn the tides to make our people happier and to make life more bearable and meaningful to justify that we are a political party with a difference and that we are not the usual that made things unpalatable for the citizens in the past.We promise change, not just change but positive change. A change in the untoward circumstances at which our citizens were being killed like chickens, the dwindling economy and declining nature of our educational institutions coupled with series of uncertainty daily killing the hope of our teeming youths and in the past, people were uncomfortable and naturally scared. Rekindling hope became the greatest thing we collectively achieved though as at today the reward system is completely a sorry story.
Each time we exhale, the world ends; when we inhale, there can be, if we allow it to mean no progress then rebirth and spiritual renewal they will seek.
Every day is already a renewal, every morning, making the day is a miracle as the cries of the people continued.
If only we can be conscious that there will be a time when all of today’s happenings will be a memory and, for many and I hope most of us both in and outside this government, will think back on these days as a time when we all worked together and saw things through not just to the end but to the new beginning which may not include us.
It may take some time, but is it renewal we need or a contract change of heart and right attitude? Is it the registration we need, but to send signals to the world that we are concerned about the endemic that is ravaging the world at this moment and that pandemic that suddenly needs people to stay apart and stopping the people to congregate for many days by our policy!
Registration which ordinarily should not be time bound or a principle of any association but that of a continuous exercise that needs no deliberate budget at a time when the yearning desires of the people is security, food on their table and hope to be alive for a better tomorrow.
To what extent have we as individuals renewed our love and affections to our dear ones and to one another as a political party? How ready and loyal are we to ensure the protection of the constitution that binds us together as a nation, and how serious are we to honor that agreement we had within ourselves which is by far stronger than this renewal, and the new registration for the new entrants that is already making us as flocks like birds of the same feathers.
I really don’t think it’s renewal or re- registration that we so need but total rededication as individuals and to pursue principles of fairness that would make us a better platform.
To think and remember our promises to the people is for us to be conscious of the fact that we shall one day face our God and may be in the nearest future our people, and certainly the likes of me shall be confronted with a big question… Why did you climb National assembly gate?
