Sanwo-Olu extends work-from-home policy to boost productivity

Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has extended the work-from-home policy for state government workers by three months, citing positive impacts on productivity.

Sanwo-Olu approved the extension of the work-from-home policy for state government workers by three months.

This decision, aimed at reducing the effects of fuel subsidy removal on workers, was made in a circular signed by the state Head of Service, Bode Agoro, on Wednesday.

The policy, which allows workers on grade levels 01 to 14 to work from home for two days a week and those on grade levels 15 to 17 to work from home for one day a week, was initially directed by the governor on February 28.

Sanwo-Olu stated in Wednesday’s circular that the policy has made positive impacts on workers’ productivity in various state government ministries, departments, and agencies.

“The extension of the work-from-home policy is a testament to our commitment to ensuring the well-being of our workers,” said Sanwo-Olu. “We understand the challenges posed by the fuel subsidy removal and are taking steps to mitigate its effects.”

The extension took effect on September 4, and workers are expected to continue working remotely as directed.

This development is part of the state government’s efforts to address the challenges faced by workers and ensure their productivity is not compromised.

“We are committed to creating a conducive work environment for our workers, the extension of the work-from-home policy is a step in the right direction,”Agoro added.
