Sanwo-Olu commissions ultra-modern classrooms in Kosofe, Ikorodu

Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu on Wednesday commissioned 16 newly constructed blocks of classrooms, a football pitch, and multipurpose sports courts at Ajegunle High School and Keme Balogun Junior and Senior Colleges in Igbogbo Bayewu Local Government Council Development Area (LCDA).

He said this at the inauguration of blocks of classrooms at Ajegunle High School and Keme Balogun Junior and Senior College Ibeshe Ikorodu in Igbogbo Bayewu Local Government Council Development Area (LCDA).

“This school reconstruction sends a powerful message to the community: that education matters, that our children matter, and that their future is worth investing in. It is a message that will inspire parents to prioritise their children’s education, encourage students to dream bigger, and motivate the entire community to take pride in this institution.

“Educated individuals are more likely to make informed decisions, contribute to civic life, and lift their families out of poverty. They are the doctors, engineers, teachers, and leaders of tomorrow who will drive the socio-economic development of this community and our state as a whole,” he said.

The governor charged members of the community he said” As we commission these schools, we are opening doors to opportunity, progress, and a brighter future.

“I charge the community to see these schools as their own, and to support them ensuring that they remain centers of excellence that continue to transform lives for generations to come.

“Today, we gather to celebrate a transformative investment in the future of this community.

“The commissioning of these schools, Keme Balogun Senior and Junior Colleges, heralds the commissioning of other schools across Lagos during the course of this week,” Sanwo-Olu said.

It was gathered that other schools to be handed over are Awori Junior College, Ojo; Euba Junior High School, Mushin; Ipara Junior College, Majiyagbe; Mainland Junior Secondary School, Fadeyi.

Others are St. Luke Junior Secondary School, Bariga; State Junior High School, Ibereko, Badagry, and Thogli Community Grammar School, also in Badagry.

The governor said that the inauguration of the blocks of classrooms consolidates on the THEMES Plus agenda.

The Commissioner for Basic and Secondary Education,Mr Tolani Ali-Balogun in his welcome address applauded the governor.

Similarly, Mr Hakeem Smith, the Chairman Special Committee on Rehabilitation of Public Schools (SCRP) said that the project at Ajegunle School seemed impossible to achieve initially.
