Sabotage responsible for Boko Haram’s successes — Dikwa
By Ekengbuda Robinson
The Dean of the Borno Elders Forum, Professor Khalifa Dikwa has urged Nigerians to put partisanship aside and join hands with the federal government to tackle the Boko Haram insurgents.
He stated this on Monday during an interview on Channel television’s Politics Today.
Professor Dikwa who said our military is capable of dealing with the insurgents, urged the federal government to fight the insurgents with the assistance of technology like helicopters with night visuals aid.
Wondering if our satellite can give aerial imagery to our military, and if our Airforce can use same without interference, he suggested we go to any country and borrow a space in the satellite if the capacity of our satellite is in doubt.
On the missing arms funds, he observed that even without going to court, President Muhammadu Buhari can order for the immediate return of monies that had been remitted for arms purchase in the event that the arms were not purchased, and such money used to buy arms from any part of the world to curtail the killings by the insurgents.
Observing that our military has always performed well in places where technology works, and where there is bio data, Dikwa used the medium to recommend additional security for the staff of the Ministry of Communication and Digital Economy so that they complete the ongoing NIN-SIM linkage, which he said will go a long way in fighting insurgency and criminality in general.
He however, did not rule out sabotage in the war against insurgency, attributing it to the successes recorded by the insurgents in their attacks on military bases.
