The Revenue Mobilization Allocation and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC) has described Osun State as one of the best in the country in terms of fiscal transparency and accountability which has earned the state the trust of both internal and external development partners in recent times.
Akure Zonal Director of the Commission, Mr Tony Omojola, stated this shortly after concluding a statewide tour in Osun to check financial documents and records in the State.
The tour brought RMFAC to the state to specifically collect data on indices used for revenue allocation and monitoring of accruals into and disbursement of revenue from the Federation Account as well as monitor fiscal efficiency of the State and local governments.
In the words of Omojola, “No wonder Osun can attract a lot of development partners both within and outside the country. The way things are being run here is what international development partners want to see, now am no more surprised.
“ am no longer surprised that Osun is doing so much with so little. This is what you get from a transparent leader, I commend the Governor because I know he is the one that has led the way for what we have seen in the past week.
“Going through the records of the various local governments, we could see a lot of transparency in everything, the same goes for the records of the State.
“I can say that our job was made very easy in Osun, I urge you to keep it up, this exercise is about desiring the best for the masses and not to witch-hunt anybody.”
