Rivers United pip Dakkada 1-0, pile pressure on Lobi Stars

Liberia forward, Albert Korvah scored the decisive goal as holders Rivers United defeated Dakkada 1-0 in their Nigeria Premier Football League matchday 14 encounter in Port Harcourt.

The game was postponed to Monday morning after heavy downpour left the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium, Port Harcourt waterlogged.

Stanley Eguma’s side led 1-0 when the game was stopped on 54 minutes.

No goal was recorded when play resume this morning.

Rivers United, who now occupy second position on the Group B table reduced the gap between them and leaders Lobi Stars to three points following the win.

Lobi Stars were embarrassed 3-0 by Bayelsa United in Yenagoa on Sunday.

Dakkada remain rooted to bottom spot after another agonising defeat.
