The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ogu/Bolo Local Government AreaLGA (LGA) of Rivers State has suspended Sen. George Sekibo alongside other PDP members in Ogu/Bolo, over alleged anti-party activity in last general elections.

The PDP Executive of Ward 2 in Ogu/Bolo LGA passed a vote of no confidence and also suspended Sen. Sekibo and Mr. Isaac Ibiberebupakabo from the PDP Ogu/Bolo LGA.

The decision was said to have been reached in an executive meeting where a review of the Presidential and National Assembly Election, as well as the  Governorship and  House of Assembly Elections, held on 25th February and 18th March respectively, were observed with dismay that the anti-party activities of the suspended party stalwarts of Ward 2 of Ogu/Bolo LGA were indicted to have worked against the PDP.

The Ward 2 Executive of the PDP also alleged that the aforementioned suspended members of the PDP have failed to pay their annual subscription fees as provided by Section 8 Subsection 9 of the PDP Constitution 2017 as amended, hence the vote of no confidence and suspension.

Similarly, the PDP Executive of Ward 10 Ogu/Bolo LGA also passed a vote of no confidence and suspended Navy Capt Victor Erasmus, Hon. Gilbert Enos, and Eugene Enos, from the PDP, the reason was the same as the aforementioned stalwarts from Ward 2, which is anti-party activities and non-payment of annual subscription fee.

The Executive of Ward 4 of PDP Ogu/Bolo LGA has also passed a vote of no confidence and  suspended Dr. Sunny Asetubobe from the PDP for anti-party activities and failure to pay the annual subscription fee.

Sen. Sekibo who is one of the longest served federal lawmaker in Rivers State, under the platform of PDP, represented Rivers East Senatorial District at the Upper Chambers for about 16 years.
