As countdown to the April 17 local government election in Rivers State begins, the PDP ONELGA Chapter has flagged off its political campaign.

Addressing the gathering at Omoku, Headquarters of Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni Local Government Area (ONELGA),the immediate past Rivers State Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Bro Felix Obuah said it is clear that PDP will emerge victorious at the end of the polls. Obuah who is also the Sole Administrator to the Rivers State Waste Management  Agency (RIWAMA) said his conviction was hinged on the quality of the PDP candidate, Chief Vincent Job, whom he said has the capacity to take ONELGA to the next level.

The former PDP chairman said he has confidence in Job, who he said was his staff, having proved his mettle while serving him.

Obuah used the opportunity to commend the governor of Rivers State, for his developmental Strides in the State, noting that the governor has surpassed his predecessors in delivering quality projects to the State.

“I want to use this opportunity to commend Governor Nyesom Wike for the quality projects across the State. For the people of ONELGA if you see the quality of roads and ongoing hospital projects in ONELGA you will know that the governor means well for the people of ONELGA,”Obuah said.

He expressed satisfaction with the level of teamwork, occasioned by the leadership style that exist among the political class in the area, urging them to sustain the tempo.

“Before, during and after the April 17 local government election in Rivers State, let us work as a team to move ONELGA forward,” Obuah said.

He refuted the allegation of imposition of the chairmanship and councillorship candidates in ONELGA,pointing out that as the political leader in council,he never imposed  or nominate any candidate.

“As the political leader of this LGA,I did not nominate or impose Chief Vincent Job as the PDP chairmanship candidate of ONELGA. In fact I am not happy that I am releasing Chief Job,who was my staff to go and serve the people of ONELGA”

Obuah urged the PDP candidate not to disappoint the ONELGA people if elected into office.

He also cautioned the councillorship candidates from embarking on what he called “white elephant projects”,stressing that as councillors their primary function is to make laws for the good of the people. He assured that PDP as a party will not abandon any project in the State.

Earlier in his speech, the Campaign Director and current chairman of ONELGA Local Government Council,Hon Victor Odili had said that members of the campaign team are able and ready to deliver all PDP candidates in the April 17 local government election in the area.

“As the Director General of this Campaign Council,I am ready and members of my Campaign Council are also ready. As a big and large political party, the PDP in ONELGA is ready for the campaign exercise in the 6 zones of this LGA,” Odili assured.

He described the PDP chairmanship candidate, Job, as a good product, who he said will continue where he stopped as council chairman.

Odili commended members of the party in ONELGA for their cooperation and support.
