The Secretary to the Rivers State  Government, Dr Tammy Danagogo has said that the Governor Sim Fubara-led administration is set to collaborate with Agencies operating within the State in order to deliver optimum services to the people.

Danagogo, who emphasised that the State Government has never hesitated to work in partnership with the Federal Government Agencies, stated this Tuesday during a courtesy visit by the new Comptroller of Immigration in Rivers State, Mohammed Sadiq, the new Comptroller of Immigration, Rivers Marine Command, CIS Bashir Mohammed Lawal and members of their team in his office in Port Harcourt.

He assured that Governor Fubara is friendly and welcoming, pointing out that, “wherever it is necessary to support the Immigration Service, His Excellency, Governor Fubara will certainly do so. Just recently, he supported the Immigration Service with hosting of the Blue Economy Workshop to unravel new avenues to boost the economy of the State and bring to bear new practices in immigration and the blue economy.”

The SSG further confirmed that Governor Fubara has also provided for the State Immigration Command, a second passport issuing office which he said is a bigger edifice with modern facilities to boost the provision of quick passport issuance.

“I appeal that you ensure the two offices run simultaneously so that our people will have the opportunity of enjoying these services in real time,” he stressed.

In his remark, the Comptroller of Immigration, Rivers State Command, CIS  Mohammed Sadiq, said the visit was expedient to appreciate the Rivers State Governments’ immense support to the Nigerian Immigration Service and to familiarise themselves with the Secretary to the State Government.

“We have enjoyed so many things and we are short of words to appreciate what we have seen. We are here to further seek for support and assistance from the government,” he said.

He noted that the Immigration Service is the lead Agency in border security and that Rivers State is a major stakeholder in the development of the marine and blue economy.
