Rivers APC Congress: Beke elected Chairman

The Rivers APC has conducted its state congress in Port Harcourt, electing former Secretary, Emeka Beke as Chairman.
Beke defeated other two contestants to emerge winner.
Other winners include, Sam Sam Etetegwung as Secretary, Akwe Maxwell (Treasurer) and Chris Finebone as Publicity Secretary, among others.
In his acceptance speech after the election,Emeka Beke thanked the delegates and party leadership for the confidence reposed in him and his team, promising to operate an all-inclusive administration. He assured that with a successful congress,APC will be victorious in 2023 general elections in Rivers State.
Addressing journalists after the election, former Governor of the State and the Minister of Transportation, Rt. Hon. Rotimi Amaechi congratulated the winners, noting that every member of the party was given an opportunity to contest the election.
He congratulated the party and delegates for a peaceful election.
“You can see that every member of the party was given a free hand to contest, but how can you win election without taking part in the electioneering process,” Amaechi said.
On his part, the former Director General of NIMASA and APC gubernatorial candidate in 2015 election, Dr Dakuku Peterside expressed confidence that with the peaceful and successful congress,the party is ready to form the government in Rivers State come 2023.
He bemoaned Governor Nyesom Wike for refusing to pay pensioners their gratuities and entitlements since 2015.
Governor Wike should be ashamed of himself that senior citizens,the pensioners who served the State for several years have not been paid their gratuities and entitlements for over six years,they are dying in droves and the Governor is happy,” Peterside fumed.
