Rivers Angels recorded their first win in the Nigeria Women’s Football League this season edging out Osun Babes 2-1 in Port Harcourt.
The former champions lost 3-0 to holders Bayelsa Queens on the opening day of the campaign.
The Port-Harcourt club were, however, at their best as they beat Osun Babes in front of their fans.
Blessing Okpe put the hosts ahead early in the game, while Bolaji Olamide equalised for Osun Babes on the dot of half-time.
Substitute Juanita Aguadze netted the winning goal for Rivers Angels 13 minutes from time.
In Benin, Edo Queens defeated Confluence Queens 4-2 in a six-goal thriller.
Chukwuamaka Osigwe stunned the home fans when he put the visitors in front on seven minutes.
Joy Jerry, however, equalised for Edo Queens eight minutes later.
Adaobi Okah put the hosts ahead for the first time in the game on 28 minutes, while Martha Paul levelled scores for Osun Babes in the 63rd minute.
Okah and Olise Chioma scored in the closing stages of the game to hand the visitors all three points.
