Reps Speaker constitutes seven special committees

The newly appointed Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Tajudeen Abbas, has constituted seven special committees for the coordination of legislative activities.

Abbas who announced the composition of the special Committees on Thursday, said they are to help oversee the affairs of the House pending the return of the House on July 4 and when the standing Committees of the House will be constituted.

The special committees include, selection, Media and Public Affairs, welfare, ethics, legislative agenda and internal security.

According to him, the Internal Security Committee is to be led by Hon. Mohammed Danjuma; Selection Committee, chaired by the speaker himself, and Media committee to be headed by Hon. Buka Ibrahim (APC-Yobe).

Also, Legislative Agenda Committee, to be chaired  by Prof Julius Ihonbvare (APC-Edo), Rules and Business Committee, to be led by Hon. Igariwey Iduma (PDP-Ebonyi).

Others are the Welfare Committee, headed by Hon. Wale Raji (APC-Lagos) and Ethics and Privileges Committee, to be headed by Hon. Tunji Olawuyi (APC-Kwara).
