Real estate association partners Ogun govt to ensure coordinated physical development

Ogun State Government has assured of its readiness to partner with the Real Estate Developers Association of Nigeria (REDAN), to ensure a well-coordinated physical development in the State.

Commissioner for Physical Planning and Urban Development, TPL Olatunji Odunlami who stated this during a meeting with members of REDAN in his office at Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, pointed out that the agenda of the government was to have an organised physical environment.

Odunlami added that his agency would buy into the objectives of the association, in order to sanitise the operations of those in the real estate business, emphasising the need for developers to obtain layout approval from the government before advertising land for sale, to avoid been sanctioned.

The Commissioner reiterated that the era of delay in obtaining layout approval is no longer the practice, as all required documents which includes proper layout design, technical report and title documents were now processed within a short time.

In her contribution, the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry, TPL Yetunde Dina, requested the association to forward names of registered members, in order to create more enabling environment for partnership.

Earlier in his remark, Chairman, REDAN, Ogun State chapter, Mr. Oyebola Okusanya pledged the association’s support for government’s developmental projects, advising developers who were not members of REDAN to register with the association, as well as follow due process by obtaining layout approval from the  government before selling lands to the public.
