Reading helps to make bold decisions – Author

An author,  Ufuoma Emerhor-Ashogbon, on Friday urged Nigerians to read more to learn more to be able to make informed and bold decisions.

The author made the appeal in an interview with the Newsmen in Lagos.

“You will definitely become better by reading.

“As an upcoming writer, you should read books in the area of your writing interest,” Emerhor-Ashogbon said.

Emerhor-Ashogbon, who authored Small World Universe  – a collection of inspirational series  –  spoke with the Newsmen  in Lagos.

The writer, also the Chief Executive Officer of Fair Life Africa Foundation, said that she was  about to release another book, New Year’s Eve, to promote reading and knowledge to build the society.

The author also said she offered services to small and medium enterprises in website design and maintenance to encourage them to grow.

“My books explores  social interconnectedness in a small world, where our actions have consequences that affect others.

“The series, as inspired by God, looked at relationship issues; communication, trust, love, temptation, infidelity, marital breakdown, forgiveness, reconciliation, intimacy, and so on.

“The books are great for singles and married folks, offering guidance and inspiration to help them to make the right decisions.

She told Newsmen  that one of the series, Church Girl, explored institutional abuse, spiritual abuse and sexual abuse to discourage  people in leadership from using their  powers to take advantage of others.

She added that she was hosting a ‘Readathon’ to encourage reading culture.

According to her, the Readathon began on Sept. 17 and would end on Dec. 2.

She urged the public to join  the #ASWReadathon.

“It is a community of readers having deep discussions, sharing lessons.

“Participants would be rewarded with prizes, books and other fantastic things,” she said.
