Rangnick could let two players leave Man United because of Elanga

Manchester United interim boss, Ralf Rangnick, could let two players leave the club before the January transfer window closes on Monday night because of the emergence of Anthony Elanga.

Elanga, who was brought into Man United’s first-team last December, has impressed during his five Premier League appearances this season for Rangnick’s side.

The 19-year-old academy graduate did very well against West Ham and opened scoring for Man United in its 3-1 victory against Brentford.

As a result, Rangnick is ready to put his faith in Elanga for the second half of the season.

Recall that former Man United manager, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, handed Elanga his first two senior appearances at the end of last campaign but then decided to sign Jadon Sancho from Borussia Dortmund for £73 million and bring Christiano Ronaldo back to Old Trafford from Juventus.

Elanga was pushed aside and used primarily as a substitute, coming off the bench for games.

However, the arrival of Rangnick has seen him establish his place in Man United’s first XI.

Elanga’s displays have kept the likes of Marcus Rashford sidelined and raised questions over the effectiveness of Jesse Lingard and Donny van de Beek in the Man United squad.

According to ESPN, Rangnick could put his faith in Elanga and let Lingard and Van de Beek leave before the end of January.

Both Lingard and Van de Beek would join the likes of Anthony Martial, who recently joined LaLiga side Sevilla on loan for the remainder of the season.
