Rampant missing of transformer cables denies us light, cries FCT Chief

Idu – Koro, a suburb of Abuja the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), has been decrying rampant missing of transformer armored cables in the community, saying that they have been suffering denial of electricity supplies, as a result of the problem.

The village head of the community, Chief Muhammad Bawa addressed journalists to that effect yesterday.

According to him, due to the problem, the community celebrated Easter without electricity supply, even as he tasked the staffers of Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC), to seriously investigate the regular missing of the cables that has been denying the community electricity supplies.

Bawa said that after replacing an armurd cable that has been missing from one of the transformers the community by the staffers of AEDC, they went to the other transformer to check why there was no light in the area and found out that the armurd cable that supplies light to the area was also missing.

The village head therefore called on the FCT Administration (FCTA), and other appropriate authorities to intervene before things get out of hand in the area, just as he advised the AEDC to involve the local vigilante in the community to safeguard the transformers, saying that the officers and men of the vigilante have been performing wonderfully well. He assured that if the vigilante group is given charge of safeguarding the transformers, the rampant missing of transformer cables and other accessories will be reduced to the barest minimum.

Commending his subjects for treating the problem with patience, the village head therefore advised them to continue to remain calm, saying that he believes that things will come back to normalcy.
