Ramadan: Pray for progress, security of Nigeria — APC urges Muslims
The All Progressives Congress(APC) on Tuesday urged the Muslim faithful to use the Ramadan period to pray for Nigeria’s shared prosperity, development and security.
The National Secretary, APC Caretaker and Extra-ordinary Convention Planning Committee (CECPC) Sen. John Akpanudoedehe made the call in a statement in Abuja.
Our Correspondent reports that the Holy month of Ramadan, which marks the commencement of 30 days of fasting by the Muslims, began on Tuesday.
Ramadan, which is the 9th month of the Islamic calendar, is considered as one of the most blessed, if not the holiest month in Islam.
Akpanudoedehe enjoined Muslim faithful to use the opportunity presented by the Holy month to get closer to the Almighty Allah.
“The APC hereby urges Muslims to pray for Nigeria’s shared prosperity, development and security.
“We should also pray for our leaders and remember to take care of the less privileged around us.
“We pray to the Almighty Allah to answer our prayers and instil in us the spirit of sacrifice, humility, mercy and kindness,” he said.
