Ramadan: Ogun Deputy Gov hosts Muslim groups, preaches peaceful co-existence

The Ogun state deputy governor, Engr. Noimot Salako-Oyedele has urged Nigerians to embrace peaceful co-exitence, saying that no religion preaches violence.
The Deputy Governor made this known on Monday, while sharing Iftar with about 20 Islamic groups across the state held at her lodge, in Ibara housing Estate, Abeokuta.
She maintained that the country is a unique one, having about 200 different ethnic group, with 2 major religion thus the need for ethnic and religious tolerance.
“Despite our differences and challenges, we have to come together to protect the interest of the country and make sure we work for of its greatness
“At the end of the day we all have identities, the important thing is that we learn good lessons that no religion preaches violence, it is for the good and benefits of humanity, so we should all imbibe, and make sure that religion doesn’t divide us,
“This country is home to about 200 ethnic groups, and two major religion for as long as the country is together as designed by God, then it is our responsibility as a leader in this generation to make sure the country remains one and doesn’t get divided”, she noted
Speaking at the Iftar, the Chief Missioner of Nawarudeen, Sheik Abdul Mojeed Ayinla admonished the congregants to imbibe the tenets of Islam, saying that the peaceful co-exitence between all religion should be paramount.
