The Director of National Youth Mobilisation South West of the recently dissolved APC Presidential Campaign Council, Hon. Kazeem Kolawole RAJI who also doubles as the Director General of the Grand Alliance for Tinubu-Shettima 2023 (GATS-2023) has .joined the array of well wishers and people of goodwill in pouring encomiums on the emergence of Senator Michael Opeyemi Bamidele as the Senate Leader for the 10th National Assembly

Engr Kazeem Raji described the development as one of the best things that will impact meaningfully in strengthening and enhancing the nation’s democracy.

‘Undoubtedly, the emergence of Senator Opeyemi Bamidele as the new Senate Majority leader is weighted with strong potentials of further strengthening and driving our democracy in the right direction’.

‘Beyond the personal sterling attributes of the new Senate Majority Leader as an honest, loyal and dedicated statesman, his vast records in both parliamentary and executive business of public governance will enhance a robust and productive working relationship between the Legislative and Executive arm of Government’, the statement went further.

It would be recalled that Opeyemi Bamidele has vast knowledge in executive workings of government having been appointed by the then Governor Bola Ahmed Tinubu of Lagos State as a Senior special assistant on political and intergovernmental relations to the Governor, then later as Commissioner for Youths and Sports before being appointed by Governor Babatunde Raji Fasola as Commissioner for Information and Strategy in the Lagos State Cabinet.

Raji, who himself was a foremost students’ leader during his university days at the University of Ibadan and a former NANS National Mobilization officer recalls with nostalgia the gallantry exhibited by Senator Opeyemi Bamidele then as the President of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) in the late eighties.

‘It could be recalled the exceptional leadership skills, uncommon organizational capacity and unrivalled zeal, perseverance and fortitude which are the hallmarks of great leaders which the Present Senate Majority Leader put up as Numero uno of the Nigerian students’ Apex body, NANS. His dogged fight against military dictatorship and indelible successes recorded in many of these struggles are still there as reference points for those who want to learn the history of the Nation’s sojourn to the present democratic dispensation’.

While praying for a successful tenure for the new leadership of the National Assembly, Raji admonishes them to see themselves as partners in progress to the concerted efforts of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu led Executive.
