The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC Ltd) has issued a statement debunking claims made in a viral video that alleged the sale of adulterated fuel at an NNPC Retail outlet near the Keffi Flyover.
The video shows an individual pouring a dark liquid, purportedly Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), allegedly bought from the station.
In response, NNPC’s Chief Corporate Communications Officer, Olufemi O. Soneye, clarified that an internal investigation, including spot checks at its outlets, found no evidence to support the video’s claims.
The company further emphasised that NNPC Retail outlets strictly prohibit the dispensing of fuel into bottles or jerrycans, as shown in the video.
NNPC Ltd reassured the public of its commitment to delivering high-quality petroleum products.
“NNPC Retail Ltd adheres to rigorous quality control and operational standards, ensuring that only safe, reliable fuel reaches consumers across the country.”
The company urged Nigerians to disregard the misleading claims and warned against unpatriotic attempts to tarnish its reputation, reminding customers of its dedication to upholding pump accuracy, regular inspections, and consistency across all stations.
