Qatar 2022: Big trap – Patrice Evra warns Southgate on England vs Senegal World Cup clash

Former France international Patrice Evra has tipped England to beat Senegal and progress to the quarter-final of the 2022 World Cup.

The Lions of Teranga will trade tackles with The Three Lions for a place in the 2022 World Cup quarter-final on Sunday.

While Evra is of the opinion that Gareth Southgate’s side are capable of beating the African champions, the Frenchman warned that this particular clash represents a ‘big trap’ for the Europeans.

“The difference for this game will be if England put more passion and heart than Senegal, then they will win the game,” the former Manchester United defender told Betfair.

“If England fails at being focused then Senegal will upset England, definitely. It’s a big trap.

“England will have to be 100% focused, they have to be on top of their game. Then they can beat Senegal.

“The trap is real…”

Senegal beat Qatar 3-1 and overpowered Ecuador 2-1 to finish second in the Group A of the World Cup, having lost 2-0 to the Netherlands in their first game.
