Public commentator criticizes new National Anthem amidst economic hardship in Zamfara

A prominent public commentator in Zamfara State, Alhaji Ahmed Bakare, has vehemently criticized the recent introduction of the new national anthem, arguing that it does not align with the pressing priorities facing Nigerians today.

In a statement made to journalists in Gusau, the capital of Zamfara State, Ahmed Bakare expressed deep concern over the prevailing hunger and starvation gripping the nation. He emphasized that urgent attention should be directed towards addressing these economic challenges rather than focusing on symbolic changes such as a new national anthem.

“The Federal Government must recognize the dire economic hardship being experienced by Nigerians,” Ahmed lamented. “It is crucial for the Tinubu administration to prioritize initiatives that alleviate the suffering of the populace.”

Highlighting the stark reality facing many Nigerians, Ahmed Bakare stressed, “Only those who have had their fill can muster the strength to sing the National Anthem. Let the government concentrate its efforts on projects that directly benefit the common man.”

Despite his criticism of the government’s priorities, Ahmed Bakare urged citizens to maintain their unwavering prayers for the restoration of peace across the nation. He acknowledged the importance of unity and collective effort in overcoming the various challenges confronting Nigeria.
