PSC promotes 66 senior police officers

The Police Service Commission (PSC) has approved the promotion of 66 senior police officers, including 20 Commissioners of Police (CPs), 19 Deputy Commissioners (DCPs), 13 Superintendents (SPs), and 14 Deputy Superintendents (DSPs).

The announcement was made in a statement issued on Monday in Abuja by Mr Ikechukwu Ani, Head of Press and Public Relations at the PSC.

According to Ani, the CPs was elevated to the rank of Assistant Inspector-General of Police (AIG), while DCPs were promoted to CPs, SPs to Chief Superintendents (CSPs), and DSPs to SPs.

Among the newly promoted AIGs are Fasuba Olabode, Musibau Ajani, Aliyu Musa, Patrick Atayero, Gyogon Grimah, Olaiya Mobolaji, and Chukwudi Ariekpere.

Others include Abubakar Aliyu, Olalolu Adegbite, Godwin Eze, Disu Olatunji, Alausa Tolani, Kareem Musa, Mohammed Dalijan, and Dan-Mamman Shawulu.

Additionally, Clement Robert, Musa Mohammed, Thomas Nabhoni, Abel Miri Zwalchir, and Ifeanyi Uka were also elevated.

The newly promoted CPs includes Usman Tahir, Sunday Okoebor, Ayodeji Faniyan, Saka Ajao, Omole Ola, Hope Okafor, and Ajo Ordue.

Other officers promoted to CP include Olufunke Adeayo, Stephen Ogedengbe, Iyabode Agbaminoja, Adebowale Lawal, Ojo Adekimi, and Yemi Oyeniyi.

Further names on the list include Obasi Okereke, Moses Ottah, Felix Nnebue, Gazali Abdul-Salaam, Fidelis Ogarabe, and Olubode Ojajuni.

Ani stated that all promoted officers underwent rigorous assessments, including examinations and interviews, before their elevation.

Mr Hashimu Argungu, Chairman of the Commission, led the promotion process, alongside other senior PSC members.
