The University of Lagos (UNILAG) has postponed its ongoing 2023/2024 second semester examinations due to the planned nationwide protest from Thursday through August 10.
Mrs. Adejoke Alaga-Ibraheem, Head of the Communication Unit at UNILAG, announced this in a statement issued in Lagos on Wednesday. She indicated that exams scheduled for Thursday and Friday are postponed until further notice. A new schedule for these exams will be provided in due course.
Alaga-Ibraheem advised members of the university community to stay calm, safe, and vigilant. The university has implemented measures to ensure the safety and security of staff across its three campuses. She emphasized that security is a shared responsibility and encouraged everyone to report any suspicious activities to the security unit.
While the university supports the right to peaceful assembly, staff and students are urged to maintain civility and responsibility in their conduct, both offline and online.
