Presidential/NASS elections: Sanwo-Olu, wife, youth commissioner cast vote, applaud process

Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, alongside his wife, Dr. Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu, has cast their votes for the presidential and National Assembly elections.

Sanwo-Olu who arrived his polling unit 006, Eiyekole Ward RA-15 Lagos Island, alongside his wife around 10:16am cast his vote in less than 10 minutes of his arrival.

Record of the process still appears seamless, as at the time of filing this report, as no glitch has been recorded yet on the use of the Bimodal Voters Accreditation System (BVAS)

Speaking after he cast his vote, Sanwo-Olu sai:d “We came in here; after a couple of minutes we (he and wife) were called for accreditation and the accreditation went very well for my wife and I and we were given ballot papers to cast our votes without any form of hindrance, intimidation or anything.

“So, I want to confirm that it’s life and well here. I think there is a fairly good turn out here. Driving from the State House all here, it’s been very peaceful without any incidence at all and I’m hoping that for the next couple of hours while its on, it would be reflective of all we’ve seen here in all the polling units we have in the State and in the Country at large.”

Lagos State Commissioner for Youth and Social Development, Mr. Segun Dawodu whose polling unit (A/Adele Rd./St.Stephen WAEC II) is within the same Eiyekole Ward RA-15, has cast his vote.

He commended the process, describing it as seamless.

He hoped the process continue without interruption till the end.

Calling on the youth to shun violence, he urged them to come out en masse to cast their vote.

“They are not the leader of tomorrow, but of today,” he said, stating that the youth must play very active role in the election process to determine the choice of leaders to lead the Country for another political season.

Daudu called on electorates to cast their votes for the presidential candidate of his party, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu and other candidates of the All Progressives Congress for the National Assembly election.

NewsDirect reports that voting commenced around 9:10am at the polling unit 006, Eiyekole Ward RA-15 Lagos Island, where Sanwo-Olu cast his vote.
