Kaduna State Governor, Senator Uba Sani, has expressed confidence that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will secure a second term in the 2027 general elections.
He also believes the All Progressives Congress (APC) will maintain dominance across various levels of government.
His statement comes shortly after the APC National Chairman and former Kano State Governor, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, affirmed that Tinubu would seek re-election. Ganduje had also urged northern politicians eyeing the presidency to reconsider their ambitions.
Governor Sani assured that Tinubu and the APC would secure victories at all levels, come 2027 general elections.
“The electorate will once again vote for APC in all elections, from the presidency to the state assemblies. Our leader, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, will be re-elected, and the party will triumph at state and legislative levels as well,” he stated.
Addressing the reintegration of returning members, Sani emphasized that both new and long-standing APC members would enjoy equal rights and privileges within the party. He reiterated that the APC remains open to welcoming more members as the elections draw nearer.
He attributed the party’s growing acceptance to what he described as its fair leadership both at the federal and state levels. According to him, the APC has solidified its position not only in Kaduna State but also across northern Nigeria and the country as a whole.
Acknowledging that no leadership is without flaws, the governor encouraged citizens to provide constructive criticism, ensuring that any mistakes made are addressed promptly.
Among those returning to the APC were former House of Representatives member Muhammad Sani Sha’aban, a serving House of Representatives member, several state legislators from Southern Kaduna, and dozens of other political figures.
The majority of defectors reportedly came from the opposition People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and the Labour Party (LP) in Southern Kaduna.
Additionally, former Secretary to the State Government (SSG) and APC stalwart Samaila Yakawada declared that there would be “no vacancy” in the Kaduna State Government House in 2027, urging potential challengers to reconsider their ambitions.
