Position yourselves to be better future leaders — Kogi Gov charges Niger Delta youths

Kogi State Governor Yahaya Bello has charged Niger Delta  youths to position themselves for them to be future leaders by engaging in good ventures. Governor Yahaya Bello stated this  in Warri  in Warri  South Local Goverment  Area on Monday at 50th birthday anniversary celebration of a renowned Niger Delta activitist, High Chief Government  Ekpemukpolo alias Tompolo.

He said the youths should prepare themselves to take up the struggle just as High Chief Government  Kpemukpolo has done for many years. He also implored Niger Delta youths to join hands to move the region forward.

The Governor who was represented by Mrs Lucy Akumabo also charged Niger Delta Leaders to collaborate with the youths  to ensure that the region moves forward.

He said, “Niger Deltans have suffered for so long so there is need to work together to liberate the people from abject poverty.”

The Governor described High Chief Government  Ekpemukpolo as a man of honour, a visionary leader and a man who has contributed to the growth and development of the Niger Delta region.

He said: “High Chief Government Ekpemukpolo as we all know has contributed to the growth and development of the Niger Delta  and therefore he needs to be celebrated.”

He therefore advised youths to be focused in whatever they do to see that their future is bright.

Earlier   in his address, the President of Ijaw Youth Concil, Timothy Moifa Ndifagha said “it is good thing to celebrate High Chief Goverment’s EKpemukpolo for the role he has played in the Niger Delta by way of struggle,” adding that “it was his efforts that  have yeided many good things in the region.”

He said High Chief Government Ekpemukpolo did not only bring peace to the ljaw nation by his works but the entire Niger Delta and the country at large.

The occasion which was attended by captains  of industries has the cutting of the birthday  cake as its highlight.
