POS operator docked for allegedly misappropriating N164,000

A Point of Sales operator, Cynthia Moughun was on Wednesday docked in a Karu Grade I Area Court, Abuja for allegedly misappropriating N164,000.

The police charged Moughun, 20 who lives at Kpeyegi, Karu, Abuja, with criminal breach of trust, cheating and misappropriation of funds.

The Prosecution Counsel, Ade Adeyanju, told the court that the defendant was employed in Jan. 21, 2021 as a POS operator and all equipment entrusted in her care.

The prosecutor said the matter was reported by Mr. Jacob Alex, of Gidan Mangoro, Abuja.

The offence, he said, contravened the provisions of sections 312, 322 and 309 of the penal Code.The defendant pleaded not guilty.

The Judge, Maiwada Inuwa admitted the defendant to bail in the sum of N200, 000 with one surety in like sum.

Inuwa ordered that the surety must provide valued I.D, statement of account, utility bill and make a deposit of not less than N100, 000.

He adjourned the case until May 5, for hearing.
