The former Jigawa State All Progressives Congress, APC, chairman, Alhaji Habibu Sani Sara, and one other party supporter have been arrested by police.
A source at the police headquarters confirmed to DAILY POST that the former chairman and one other were invited and detained due to a complaint from one Malam Habibu Ringim, a Special Adviser to the Governor on Media Content.
He said some of the complaints include attacking Governor Muhammad Badaru’s personality and reputation over a radio program.
Spokesman of the command, DSP Lawan Shiisu Adam, however, said the information had not reached his table at the time of filing this report.
News learned that Sara and Habu Karami Jahun, an APC stalwart in the state, while featuring on a radio program, accused Governor Badaru of the indiscriminate award of contracts that could be a burden to his successor.
They also accused him of attempting to remain in power beyond May 29th, 2023, by imposing cabinet members and other key appointments into the incoming government of Malam Umaru Namadi.
The Gwaram local government chapter of the APC expelled Sara and Tukur Fagam on allegations of anti-party and other nefarious actions capable of destabilizing the party in the state.
It could be recalled that the APC also sacked Sara as state chairman of the party over alleged involvement in the misappropriation of the party’s funds, an allegation he denied.
