Police opens investigation into Abuja engineer, Humpjtey Nnaji’s suspected murder

The FCT Police Command has commenced investigation into the suspected murder of a construction engineer, Mr. Humpjtey Nnaji, whose decomposing corpse was discovered in his apartment at Dawaki area of Abuja on Saturday.

SP Josephine Adeh, the FCT Police spokesperson, confirmed that investigation on the matter commenced on Sunday.

Residents of the estate were said to have contacted the Police on Saturday when they perceived a strong odour emanating from the apartment Nnaji lives.

The Police found his decomposing body and a hammer near his head after forcing the door open.

Some cords were found around his neck and hands, suggesting he was tied to a chair before he was killed.

A source said a note found on the scene said the killer struck to avenge his sister’s murder, alleging that the deceased was using ladies for ‘Yahoo plus’.

The corpse of the engineer has been evacuated by the Police from FCT Command while the apartment has been cordoned off.
