Police nab teen over kidnap attempt in Osun

Osun State Police Command has arrested an 18-year-old man, Salisu Sulaiman alleged to be one of the suspects of the foiled kidnap attempt at Koka village in Osun State.

Recall that Nigerian NewsDirect reported that villagers in Koka community, Ibokun Local Government area of Osun State, on Sunday, prevented an attempted kidnap by some suspected herdsmen.

Some locals mobilised themselves and engaged the suspected herdsmen in a gunfight which left three persons injured with bullet wounds.

However, the police in a statement, on Wednesday, said it had arrested Salisu Sulaiman of Idofihan in Kwara State.

The Police Public Relations Officers, SP Yemisi Opalola revealed that the teenager was apprehended around 12:15 pm on Tuesday.

Opalola added that the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) has continued manhunt for other suspects.

In her words, “Manhunt for other suspects continues as SCID proceeds in their investigation.”
