Police nab suspected murderer of village head, wife, others in Jigawa

The Jigawa state police command has arrested a 37-year-old man, Munkaila Ahmadu of Zarada-Sabuwa village in Gagarawa LGA of Jigawa State.

It was gathered that he used a wooden pestle to attack a 70-year-old village head of Zarada -Sabuwa village, Ahmad Muhammad, his 50-year-old wife, Hauwa Ahmadu and two other residents, Kailu Badugu (65) and Hajia Hakalima Amadu (50).

Upon receipt of the ugly report, a team of Policemen visited the scene of crime and conveyed the victims to General Hospital Gumel.

However, the couple, Muhammad and Ahmadu were certified dead by a Medical Doctor as a result of head injuries sustained.

The other two, who sustained various degree of injuries, were admitted at the Gumel general hospital.

The police, who arrested the suspect and recovered the exhibit, said investigation is still going to find the root of the crime.

According to the police, preliminary investigation revealed that the dead couple were the biological parents of the suspect.

The State Commissioner of Police, CP Aliyu Sale Tafida psc, directed that the case should be transfer to SCIID Dutse immediately for discreet investigation and possible prosecution of the culprit.
